In memory of Peter Cantwell

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Peter David Cantwell. Peter passed away peacefully on 8 July 2015 aged 77 in Frimley Park Hospital with Fiona at his side. Peter had fought a long battle with cancer, but had remained cheerful to the end.

Peter spent all of his working life in the Royal Mail, as well as serving in the Territorial Army. His army career allowed him to engage his passion for travel, setting up army postal services across Europe.

Loving travel as he did, holiday's were across the globe, often across 'the pond'. It was joked by one US friend that his daughter has visited more states with Peter than many US citizens do in their whole lives before she was even out of school.

Peter continued to travel in retirement with Fiona, with regular trips on cruise liners around the world or their favourite destination, Alaska. The place where he and Fiona ultimately wish their ashes scattered.

A late comer to computers following his retirement, Peter soon found the joys of internet shopping and strategy games. Spending many a happy hour playing soldiers, or booking an unexpected vacation.

He leaves behind him his wife Fiona Cantwell, their daughter Susan Braisby along with 4 grand children and a number of cats, another of his passions.

In lieu of flowers Fiona has asked for donations to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
